Tank Heating System
Matrusree designs and manufactures products for heating tanks of all sizes and shapes using a variety of heating methods.Tank heaters, which are built with low watt density, open coil heating elements for uniform heating of the materials inside a tank, can be used to maintain temperatures of gases and fluids in tanks ranging from -300deg F to 1000deg F.
The two main methods to tank heating are direct and indirect tank heating.
Placing the heater in the tank or circulating the fluid directly through the heater results in direct contact with the heated medium The advantage of direct heating is that the heaters are nearly 100 percent efficient. This speeds up the heating process and eliminates thermal lag. There is no intermediate heat transfer medium to cause heat losses
Indirect tank heating
Indirect tank heating applies heat to the tank via a heat transfer medium. External heating of the tank using the tank wall as the heating medium to using a heat transfer medium to carry the heat to the tank are examples of indirect methods. The main advantage of indirect heating is that it can usually be serviced without draining the tank. Second, indirect heating frequently reduces the watt density exposed to the process fluid by spreading the heat over a larger surface area.
